Temple visit

Bangalore has number of ancient and famous temples dedicated to Indian god and goddess, most of the temples has large number of Gods worshipped as murtis or idol. And one of them which I have visited is the kote Venkataramana temple .

Kote Venkataramana Temple -God Venkateshwara:- This magnificent temple is the abode of Lord Sri Venkateshwara. It is one of the very ancient temples of Karnataka and Bengaluru in particular. It is a huge temple and has a spacious courtyard. Built by Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar in the 1600s, this temple exemplifies the Dravidian and Vijayanagara architecture. There are many carvings of animals and scenes from ancient Hindu mythological stories. The other deities worshipped here are Anjaneya and Padmavathi (Lord Venkateshwara’s wife). This temple sees unusual crowd gathering during the Vaikunta Ekadashi day (a festival dedicated to the lord of Vaikunta i.e. Venkateshwara). The temple is shares its wall with the Tipu Sultan Summer palace on the K.R.(Krishna Rajendra) Road, near to the K.R. Market, in Bengaluru. The people who are looking for a calm place can visit this temple,it’s pretty huge . Going there on a leisurely weekday could savor the experience. The timings are from morning 8 Am to 12 Am and the location : 39, KR Rd, Kalasipalayam, Bengaluru 560002
